Calculation of Net Run Rate

The Net Run Rate of a team in IPL is calculated by adding the total runs the team scored is divided by total overs. They played we get one run rate then add all other opposite teams runs scored against them. Then you get another run rate subtracting these two run rates will give you net run rate.

Let us consider Mumbai Indians played matches with RCB, CSK, DD. MI scored 164, 149, 209 against RCB, CSK and DD respectively. So add all these runs we get 522 runs. Divide this by total overs (20 + 20 + 20) 60. We get (522 / 60) 8.7 RPO.

RCB scored 167 (20 overs) runs. CSK scored 139 (20 overs) runs, DD scored 165 (20 overs) runs against MI. Add all those we get (167 + 139 + 165) 411 runs in 60 overs (20 + 20 + 20). So 411 / 60 = 6.8 RPO.

So that along with the Winning of the Match maintaining good net run rate is also very important. The winning of match with 40 or more runs or winning the match in 11 or 12 overs will give good run rate. So the teams will concentrate on match winning and net run rate. 2. mum vs kkr run rate
    mum total score=170/20
    kkr totla score=105/18.2
run rate:mum score in 20 over corrected/kkr score in 20 over corrected
    mum rr corrected is (170+65)=235/20
kkr rr corrected is =108/20 so now x+235/Y+20 winning score while x1+108/Y1+20 against score where x is total score by mum indians against Y over and x1 is totlal score made by other team in y1 over against mum indian

  3. example of 20-20 over match
    team A run 120/20 team B run 120/10
    now run rate
team A corrected run rate 120 in 20 over
team B corrected run rate 120 in 20 over
(also if team is win 121/10 over then corrected run rate is 121/10 instead of 121/20 (which is actually in case if win is 242/20 if win then not for tie or draw) so
run rate of team A is 120/20 against 120/20 corrected
run rate of team B is 120/20 against 120/20 corrected
    ..................................
if team A is batted first and made 121/20 and win by one run then net run rate will be
    121/20 against 120/20 positive and
team B run rate is negative 120/20 against 121/20
    .................
    team A 120/16 batted 1st team B allout 119/10
    then net run rate is
    team A corrected is 120/20 against 119/20 +ve
while team B run rate is 119/20 against 120/20 -ve.
    ...........................20 over match....
team A 120 in 10 over all out
    team B 121 in 19.5 over
then corrected run rate will be
team A 120/20 against 121/19.5 corrected -ve rr
    team B is 121/19.5 against 121/20 +ve rr
(wicket is not count and its assume to be each team utilized their 20 over)
    .............................................
    team A 170/20 over while team B make 105 in 18.2 over
    team A corrected run rate (170+65 winning run)/20 = 235/20 against 105/20 (huge win )
while team B corrected run rate 105/20 against 235/20 a huge loss
